Hello. My name is Lois. I’ve always thought of it as an “old aunt” name, but while I am an aunt, I’m not old. At least I don’t think so.
I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for 30 years. We have two daughters, ages 22 and 19.
I’m a Midwestern girl who spent her college and first dozen adult years in Northwest Arkansas. I now live near Kansas City, about 10 miles from my childhood home. I never thought I’d be back, but I’m glad I am.
In a past life, I worked as a business journalist and wrote two books. I believe that everything in life has a point, whether or not we can see it at the time.

Also, if you poke around here very long, you will likely discover that I lost my aging parents—with whom I was very close—in 2019, five weeks apart. As the grief of those losses softened, I began reaching out to others who have walked a similar road.
Remembering Our Parents, an Instagram community built around follower stories about beloved moms and dads, grew out of that journey.
Finally, I love interacting with readers in the comment section, so if a post speaks to you in some way, please let me know. You can also reach me via the Contact form. If social media is more your style, you can find me on Instagram, LinkedIn or X.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m delighted that you are here.
♥ Lois
